Assam tea is a black tea produced in the north east region of India. Most of the tea is grown by the Brahmaputra River.The Assam region is one of the largest growing areas with over 800 estates. This part of India experiences extreme rainfall (10-12 incles per day) during monsoon season.  The daytime temps rise to 103° creating greenhouse conditions with extreme heat and humidity.  This climate contributes to Assam's unique malty taste.
