Our Irish Breakfast tea is a delightful blend of organic Assam, Ceylon and China Black teas. It is the perfect way to start the day either plain or with a splash of milk.The black, medium sized leaves brew to an aromatic, copper cup with a full-bodied taste and a smooth oak-like finish.

Irish Breakfast blends are rarely pure Assam tea, they usually contain an assortment of black teas to produce a dark, layered flavor. When brewed it is generally very dark red to brown in color. It can be tannic if overbrewed, but a perfectly brewed cup will simply be brisk in flavor with an undertone of dark, richly fermented malt.

Originally, Irish Breakfast tea was blended to "wash down" their hearty breakfast which generally included fried bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms and tomato.
